Here’s another set that I could have photographed for a while! The only problem with planning these cute sets is that 10 minutes in not long enough to capture it like I would like to! lol I loved this so much, though. I am thinking of offering a series of “Tea for Two” mini sessions in the next few weeks. I love these- my sweet babies having a tea party with cupcakes! Of course, they thought this was great and had such a good time.
They are modeling the Polkadaisies “Tea for Two” Collection. Reagan is wearing the halter top and ruffle capris with flower clip in her hair. Emmy is wearing the tank top dress and ruffle capris with a coordinating hair bow. Also, Becky made the bunting banner draped in the background. (I helped her pick out the fabrics for the banner! Although I was slow and a bit indecisive, I think it turned out well. lol)
As a photographer who thrives on creating artistic images and using props creatively, doing this shoot was so much fun and just like a dream! I wish that everything I shot was so fun and creative. So in case you are asking yourself, “How Can I make my shoot more fun like this?”…
- One factor is cute clothing! Obviously, Polkadaisies is a great choice for young children. I have a list of recommended clothing and accessory companies that I share with my clients.
- Once you have your special outfit(s), it is important that you share them with me. For instance, Becky gave me several fabric swatches for our shoot beforehand. I was able to plan everything we did just by using those fabric swatches. I have also had clients text me pictures. Also, I am always available for a pre-session planning meeting at my studio.
- If you have a specific theme or idea, it is important that you communicate that to me. I am always looking forward to working with clients that have a vision for their shoot. I also value the client that says “I trust you! Do your thing!”
- Be sure that you give yourself enough time when scheduling your session to order clothing. Although, I am pretty good at working last minute, it would be great if I had at least a couple weeks to plan when it comes to sets that are more elaborate/creative.
The flowers from our shoot came from Ideal Florist in LaFollette, TN. Also, our cupcakes and cake were provided by Lindsay Bradley who has a small home-based business in Jacksboro. Thank you Lindsay for sticking around and helping with all the randomness and chaos! : ) The cupcakes and cake were just the perfect touch to these images.
So, I think I have narrowed it down to this next image for an enlargement for my house. It makes this momma’s heart skip a beat!
You know, everything that you do in life comes with obstacles. Although it may look like this shoot came off flawlessly, we did have a few little bumps along the way. One of them being me accidentally letting both of my 10 dollar antique tea cups fall out of my car onto the concrete driveway—- leaving pieces everywhere! My poor dad sat in the driveway and glued pieces together. (He is always saving the day for me!) He got one of the cups and saucers glued back together, but the other was just beyond repair. Luckily, I had one last back up teacup (that cost me 10 cents instead of 10 dollars!) Can you tell which is which? : )
