9 Days New!

Prepare yourself for some serious baby sweetness!  Here is my little guy Max at 9 days!  I would have liked to have shot his session earlier, but with the chaos at home and his jaundice issues, this was the first good chance I had to get him in the studio.  I decided to just focus on trying to capture the innocence and perfection of a sleeping newborn baby during the session (instead of trying to get a shot in every basket and prop in the studio!)  =).

I just want to hold him and look at him all the time.  It seems that the first few days are just so special and fleeting, at that!  I just wanted to try to capture him as I see him.  The miracle and gift of childbirth never gets old to me.  What a blessing to have a happy, healthy baby.

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!  If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.” -Psalm 139: 13-18

I’ve been trying for months (LITERALLY) to get this pose with a newborn.  Thank you Max for cooperating and letting mommy experiment!

I knitted this hat for him.  awwww

A sweet little grin.  It is just heaven when a baby smiles in their sleep!

Okay, so I couldn’t leave out props, altogether! =)  Here’s a couple shots that will have to go in his nursery (we have decorated in guitars/drums).  Music is big in my family.  Daniel was like “What if he hates music?”  I answered, “He has no other choice, but to love it!  It is in his blood!”  He has long fingers- perfect for playing an instrument!

So glad I caught this smile!  Please tell me this makes you smile!

And, he finally decided to wake up!

I got about one good shot of him awake.  He was going crazy- rooting and sucking his hands.  Time to eat!  This boy loves to eat.

And here are some videos- for your entertainment.  Go ahead and laugh.  I have a 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and newborn.  HAHA

You need to turn off the music so you can hear the videos.  Go to the top left and scroll over the music note.  Click the stop button (square).

So, here is the quick story behind these videos.  This past Monday, I was rocking Max in his room.  Reagan walked in and I asked her to sing a song for Max.  She said, “I’ll be back in a minute.”  So a few minutes passed and she returned ready to sing a song to him.  She had made up a song.  I just sat there about to bust out laughing as she sang it to him— wishing so badly I had grabbed the video camera.  So, I had her sing it again while I videoed.  Then, I was thinking, “I’d love to share her song on the blog.”  So I grabbed my camera to video her singing it once more for the blog.  Everytime she sang it, the words changed slightly.  So here she is singing the song for the 3rd time to Max.  Of course, Emmy had to be part of the video…which became a distraction to Reagan (she left out several lines of the original version of her song).  You will now see why Emmy isn’t allowed within a 5-foot radius of Max unless an adult is present.  Also, Emmy has Max’s passy.  She goes for it everytime!

***DISCLAIMER- All kids are in their play clothes and have not had baths….  Yes, we are normal people and sometimes we don’t brush our hair!  =)

Lyrics – “When Max was Born” by Reagan Stanfill, age 3

When Max was born, he was born.

And mommy had to stay at the hospital for 2 nights…

And Max was born and mommy had to sleep…

And Mommy was bleeding…

(Her original version included the lines “and the head came out” and “there was a white thing on his belly button and they cut it, but he didn’t cry”… LOL)

Here is another attempt to get her to sing it…

And our final attempt……

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post.  I will try to keep the pictures and videos coming!  Remember our Spring into Summer Blowout special prices!  Spots are filling quickly!
